i'm tired of fickle people

i'll be posting rants as well as opinions now, so here we go.

by saying something about hating nash grier, i believe i've actually ended a long-standing friendship.

let me just tell you: i despise nash grier.  literally, i rank him up with hitler.  (well, okay, that's an exaggeration, but you get the idea.)

anyway, nash grier was at my school watching his brother's football team play ours.  and the next day, friday, everyone was freaking out about it.

that is, everyone besides me and a select few who a) didn't know who he is, b) hates him as much as or more than me, or c) didn't care.

so according to aforementioned friend, a football player got hayes grier's phone number.  my friend had heard this from an unreliable source.  (this source, like all the other girls in my grade, has a humongous crush on both the football player and hayes.)

i told this friend that i felt that this information was false due to her source.  i'll admit, i was rather harsh in the way i told her this.

but what i'm getting at here is that i think we all know that person who leaves you and then comes crawling back.  maybe they do that to someone else.  maybe you're the one doing it.

it's the people like that that really make me dislike people.

this friend is very dear to me, and every time we argue i want to let her back in.  but at the same time, i want to say, "no.  stop crawling back on your knees because you don't want the guilt of offending me - or because you're tired of acting hurt - to stay on your back.  i don't want to befriend you just so that you can get rid of the psychological weight that you have to carry. i will not share your burden.  if you can't support the psychological load that you've been given or that you've given someone else, then you need to be careful what you say and how you react."  the person i am says that.  but the person i want to be takes her back, apologizes (even if it wasn't my fault and she was the one doing the offending), and then repeats the cycle.

i guess that's what i'm ranting about, then.  everyone is so freaking indecisive that it will ruin us.  i don't look forward to it in the least.

my opinion on: cyberbullying

my idea (sparked by recent events that i'd prefer not to speak of)

cyberbullying is a loosely-understood term nowadays.  but i think most people get that it's bullying someone, except through e-mail or any form of communication thereafter.

i have been cyberbullied. i have been accused of cyberbullying someone (though it's hard for one to admit such things, i do believe i was doing it if you go by the loose definition).

i, personally, think that bullying in general is utterly pointless and stupid.  but saying something from behind a screen because you're too cowardly to admit it to the victim's face is much worse than approaching them.

and not only is it cowardly, but everything you say on the internet is permanently there. if you're a gmail user, like me, you'll notice that when you delete a message, it doesn't disappear; it goes to a folder labeled 'archive.'  and those kinds of things will affect you later in life, when, say, you apply for college and the people from the college look you up and find a scathing email sent to an enemy of yours.

if you're being cyberbullied right now, i'd advise you to save the messages. even if the bully deletes them, you will still have them as evidence, if you take the situation to someone of higher authority, or, in the case i just spoke of, you can just leave them for people to find.

but then again, i hope that if you're reading this, you and/or your loved ones are not getting cyberbullied because it's a senseless activity and something you should never do if you have any dignity whatsoever.

that is all.

my opinion on: acacia brinley

recommended by (x)

before we get started, i need to clear something up: i don't know as much as some people about acacia.  please correct me if i say something false.

but i've definitely heard the name, associated with different things such as "attention whore," "strong," and "inspirational."

i agree with one of those.  can you guess which?

i don't know much about acacia, but i know that cutting yourself is a shameful thing.  i know that it is most definitely not something you do for attention, or broadcast it so people will pity you, call you strong.  most people will call it disgusting.  so if you're gonna go posting a picture of your scars on the internet so you can win an argument, you can guarantee that you won't earn this girl's respect.

that is all.

my opinion on: gay rights/marriage/in general

recommended by (x)

"i think gays will burn in hell because the laowrd says that no man shall love another-" no. no. no.

first of all, to the people who actually think that, would you like it if someone told you that their magic man in the sky from their book of fairy tales says you can't love someone just because of his or her outward appearance? you wouldn't, and don't even lie.

now, whatever your opinion is about what "causes" people to be gay, i don't believe for a second that they're just doing it "for attention" or "to be rebels." that's bullsh*t.

just because someone's love doesn't meet your stereotype's requirements or just because it doesn't look like the love you have doesn't mean it isn't love.

and don't even start with the "what will we tell the kids" crap, because it's not the kids that are the "problem" here, it's the adults.

the point is, there shouldn't ever be laws telling you who you can or can't love, who you can or can't marry.  that's a right that i think everyone should have.  not to mention a major relationship milestone.  and, yeah, it's just some rings and a piece of paper, but it means a lot to some people.

therefore, i will not rest until gay people (and all variations thereafter - trans, lesbian, queer, pans, and all the others) have the same rights as straight people.

that is all.
